April Showers Bring...
The April Lineup for Rooted, Truly.
Well, hello, friends!
It’s already April. Can you believe it? The Earth is waking up for many of us, and popping plant medicine in our yards. Personally, I have dandelions, violets, and purple nettle springing up everywhere! I hope to see more, so I can share more cool things with you all this month. Last month, I was not able to share the women’s herb list or post the mini podcast. Both were bigger than I anticipated, amongst my studies and family life. However, they’ve been prioritized and will be shared this month! Thank you for your patience.
To add, I’m SLAMMED this month!
I just came back from Atlanta this week. I was blessed with an opportunity to speak at Strength is Soft, Too. This was a mental health event hosted by Mental Black Mom, a non-profit founded by Cimone Holt that supports Black mothers’ mental health through grants for medication and other resources. It was a beautiful time! I was able to speak about herb safety, how to research adverse reactions, and answer questions. I was also able to finally hear clinical herbalist Selima Lust, which was magical and comforting.
This weekend, I’m back home, aka Michigan, for the Beauty in Numbers Expo in Detroit as the keynote speaker! I’m truly honored and excited to discuss holistic healing and mental health. Finally, on April 26th, I’ll be teaching about oxymels! The Black Herbalists Collective’s Medicine Making Series is still going. If you still haven’t signed up, now’s the time. You can grab your seat here. You can attend a class for as low as $5.
Considering all these events, plus it’s my last stretch to wrap up my first year in my doctorate program…my posting schedule won’t be as busy this month. However, here’s what you can expect:
EVERYONE:
Herb Deep Dive
Herbs for Women’s Health
How to Become an Herbalist
The Truth about Parasites
COZY COALITION (Paid Subbers):
The Global Water Crisis
Common Medicinal Weeds
My 10 Takeaways from Studies this Semester
Mini Podcast
Herbal Preparations I’ve Made This Month So Far
If I can fit anything else in this month, I shall. I’ll be more active on Notes as well. I really enjoy sharing my thoughts there and little bits of my practice. Please keep an eye out for an important announcement sometime soon. You all are great! Let me know what you’re most excited for on this list.
